FAQs
Q. Can I accompany my child to the classes?
A. We never turn anyone away from attending our classes, but from experience we find that children respond better to this kind of class without the parent being present, with the exception of our baby and toddler classes where a parent or carer must accompany the child. However, you are invited to stay for a part of or a whole session when your child starts with us, to settle them and for you to see what our classes are like. If you want to stay for more sessions, then that’s OK too.
Q. Does it matter if my child can’t speak any French?
A. Our teaching method is bilingual, so classes are conducted in both English and French. That way, children fully understand what they are being asked to do, and are therefore kept engaged for much longer. It reduces frustration at not understanding what something means and increases the enjoyment levels.
Q. How can I support my child at home?
A. You will receive half termly vocab sheets with new words, phrases and songs that we will be teaching. We suggest this is stuck on the fridge at
home so you can both practise together. We are always happy to help with any pronunciation queries and can suggest suitable DVDs, books, websites and apps too. Your child will come home most weeks with a special ‘Ask Me’ sticker to prompt spontaneous practise of something we have taught in class that week. Our older children also receive occasional activity sheets which they can use at home if they wish.
Q. What happens if my child is sick or we can’t make a class?
A. We don’t offer refunds for sickness or missed classes. However it might be possible for you to attend another class – just speak to your teacher to find out.
Q. Do you offer refunds for any reason?
A. We don’t offer refunds once a term has started except in exceptional circumstances and each situation is treated separately.
Q. Are you insured and are all staff DBS checked?
Yes we hold fully comprehensive insurance and all of our staff are DBS checked.
A. What are your bank details for payment?
Fees should be paid by BACS Sort Code: 30-97-73 Account Number: 37995868. Please use your child’s name as the reference. All fees must be paid before the start of each term or we reserve the right to add an increase of 10%.
